I’m pleased to announce that my first novella in the Cor Et Caput series, BY THE BLOOD OF BRETHREN AND BLACKGUARDS, has been released as an e-book on Amazon (paperback to follow later this month). This book has been a lot of fun to develop, as it involved creating a whole new world – from dialects and geography to religions and beliefs. Although this is the first part of the story, I also have a few more tales planned for the series. Each book will focus on a different character in an overarching narrative that brings together weird science, religious fundamentalism, and political intrigue, in a world comparable to early Victorian England. The most appropriate subgenres to describe the series would be either flintlock or gas lamp fantasy, but I’m not entirely convinced that either is fully appropriate but hey ho.
Separately, I hope to soon have further news regarding progress on my second novel, a folk horror piece set in the 1980s in Wales. This one has been a bigger beast to tame, but I’m optimistic I’m getting close now to sharing it with the world.
